description:
Fore-edge of covers lightly discoloured. Five new photographic plates of contemporary 'fowling scenes; including two photographs taken from Sir Ralph Payne-Gallwey's personal sporting diaries. The first edition was not illustrated, apart from the advertisements at the rear, which are included in this new edition. Tony Jackson, former editor of "Shooting Times" has contributed a new introduction. 300 copies only. Lewis Clement was the founder and first editor of "Shooting Times". A most fascinating and entertaining guide to free shooting in Britain, Ireland & Europe, with location detail, available sport, anecdotes etc; some of it highly amusing. Most of this is wildfowling on the coastline of Britain, including details of places like Brighton, Dagenham, Northfleet, & Bournemouth! The first edition is rare, due to it being published in soft covers as a practical & cheap "pocket" guide.
