Illustrated. Original cloth very lightly rubbed, slightly chipped on top & base of spine; corners lightly bruised and rubbed. The contents are excellent. Inscribed on the front endpaper by the author "To Margaret, from J.H. Patterson. 1st October 1907". This endpaper is quite foxed. The scarce first edition, which also has inserted a press cutting from "The Buckingham Advertiser & Gazette" 11th July, 1947, reporting the author's demise.
