Many fine coloured and other plates by Archibald Thorburn, Balfour-Browne & Lodge. The first 40 leaves show some damp marking, mainly to plate tissues, but also to a few pages; the actual plates are only lightly affected, in fact hardly visible on the actual plate, only on the verso. This copy is bound in a brown half buckram/cloth in exactly the same style ass the original leather (morocco) of this series. This is lightly rubbed. Large thick 4to. A disappointing copy of a desirable title, normally commanding a price of £400. Contributors include J.E. Harting and T.F. Fremantle. A large and extensive work of 360 pages of which deer take up 173 pages. Limited to 950 copies. One of the series - "The Gun at Home and Abroad".
