My office and book store is in north west England, in Shap village, only 5 minutes off the main route to Scotland - the M6 motorway. Leave the motorway at exit number 39 & follow signs to Shap. This is a useful stop-off point; Shap has cafe and four pubs with accommodation, and a very good general grocery & household goods store. Many of my clients stop for a break - and a browse. Just call me to check I am in on the day you are travelling north or south. You can, of course, take pot luck.
