David Grayling Books is committed to protecting your privacy online and to making your shopping experience an enjoyable one. Our policy explains how we do this.
We endeavour to describe all books accurately. A book can be returned if this is not the case, and payment refunded.
If you order from us using the secure pages of our website, then the shipping costs are calculated according to your choices and added to the cost of your books. We will get in touch with you to let you know of these costs, before your card is charged and before your books are sent.
If you order from us using Google Checkout, then the shipping costs are calculated as part of the order process. In rare circumstances, (such as for a heavy or rare item) we may need to add extra to these shipping costs. In such cases we will get in touch with you to tell you these costs before your credit card is charged. If you agree, we will then send you a separate invoice for the difference.
If you wish for custom shipping arrangements or to pick your books up from the shop, then we can arrange these for you. Just contact us first to let us know your preferences and then go ahead with your order in the usual fashion.
All personal and credit card information is encoded using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
technology before being sent over the Internet. Credit card transactions are issued
a digital certificate, ensuring that your data can only be read by our transaction
system as long as your browser shows its secure mode symbol (such as a key or closed
lock). To protect your data further, your credit card information is always stored
in encrypted form in the database. It is kept there only for as long as it takes us
to process your order. After that, it is destroyed.
To make the most of the our site, we recommend setting your browser's preferences to
accept cookies and enable JavaScript.
If you order a book from us using the secure pages of our website, we will keep a
record of your name, address, email address and the books you ordered.
We do not keep records of your credit card details
We use the information to help us understand more about how our web site is used
and to improve our site.
We do not share that information with anyone outside our organisation.
We may use that information to send you news of particular books which we think may
be of interest to you.
